Core Values

‘Fail early, fail often, but always fail forward.’

At TestingTime, we strongly believe that a diverse community is the best way forward. We encourage each other to think outside the box. We set ambitious goals and celebrate our successes. And we aren’t afraid to get our hands dirty to get things done!

Boldness

Core Values - Boldness

What it means

We encourage and challenge each other to keep thinking outside of the box. We take risks, run experiments, and question the status quo. All because we’re passionate believers in what we do and continuously strive to keep moving forward.

How it shows

Our customers are at the center of everything we do and we’re always trying to raise the bar and make them happier. We’ll try anything (once!) if it promises to boost our performance. Resting on our laurels is not an option.

In the words of our employees

‘At TestingTime, I learned that it’s okay to make big decisions on my own. At my previous company, this was neither allowed nor desired.’

Experimental

Core Values - Experimentell

What it means

We try things. If they work out, great. If not, we try other things instead. It’s okay to make mistakes along the way. We view mistakes as opportunities to learn and do better next time. It’s a perpetual process of elimination. Also, we acknowledge that things that work today may not work tomorrow.

How it shows

We don’t point the finger at a colleague who has made a mistake. On the contrary, we encourage each other to follow the fail-fast principle — for example, by holding hackathons to brainstorm and test new ideas on the cheap.

In the words of our employees

‘Just as we celebrate our successes, we also discuss our failures with the entire company. Everyone is very supportive.’

Quality

Core Values - Quality

What it means

Like any company, we want to grow – but we want to do so in manageable increments. Because taking baby steps helps us keep our quality consistently high and sets us up for longterm success. It’s a marathon, not a sprint.

How it shows

We cut through the noise and focus all of our efforts on a few important KPIs. We aren’t tempted by quick wins that may give us a boost in the short term but cannot uphold our quality standards in the long term.

In the words of our employees

‘We do everything in our power to uphold our service quality – from analyzing feedback to managing expectations and immediately responding to complaints.’

Teamwork

What it means

Rather than competing against each other, we work together as a team to make things happen. We keep an open mind, value each other’s opinions, and appreciate the innovative solutions that result from combining our different strengths and areas of expertise.

How it shows

We have an open-door policy, meaning everyone is encouraged to stop by each other’s desks to ask questions and/or make suggestions anytime. Everyone matters and the relationship between members of different departments as well as between management and employees is one of mutual respect and trust.

In the words of our employees

‘I love how we as employees can shape the future of our business together.’

Transparency

Core Values - Transparency

What it means

We trust all employees with information so that they may work more efficiently and effectively as equals. All employees know what their colleagues are working on and how the business is doing as a whole. They are not only permitted but actively encouraged to voice their opinions and give each other honest, constructive feedback.

How it shows

We talk to each other. On a regular basis, all employees have one-on-one meetings with their line managers, team meetings with the other members of their department, and team meetings with everyone, including management.

In the words of our employees

‘The transparent attitude is motivating. I feel like I really own my tasks and that my efforts contribute to our overall success.’
